Thank you for your participation as a mentor in the inaugural HBCU Office Hours, presented by HBCU Battle of the Brains and our sponsors. With your overwhelming support, 206 students representing 41 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) had a once in a lifetime opportunity to be nurtured by 247 leaders representing 90 amazing companies. The only thing that could limit the capacity of the event was literally, the capacity. And while an in-game adjustment was required, your teamwork and commitment allowed for the goal of the event to be realized.
Here are a few of the quotes from students during and after the event:
“Thank you so much for this opportunity. It’s a blessing to be a part of something like this.”
“This has been a wonderful event! I’ve made so many great connections today! Thank you to Gregory Gibson Jr. and the team for making this all happen!”
“Thank you for today. It was an amazing experience, I learned a lot and feel better equipped to move forward.”
HBCU Office Hours is different from our signature HBCU Battle of the Brains competition which delivered $95,000 in scholarships in 2019. The competition serves as an HBCU academic national championship where teams of competitive and high-achieving students prepare and attend to compete in a STEM & business hybrid hackathon while doubling as an experiential diversity recruiting event (learn more here).
HBCU Office Hours, our first virtual mentoring event, was delivered to offer mentoring and professional coaching to the overall HBCU student body during an uncertain and difficult time for each of us, and each of you went beyond the call of duty to serve.
Thank you so much for your time, talent, and dedication to our HBCU students!
