Emmy Award-winning journalist Ashley Goudeau is the Midday Anchor and Political Anchor at KVUE News in Austin, Texas.
A Houston native, Ashley developed a love for writing early in life and decided to use that passion to launch a career in journalism.
She studied at the Dan Rather School of Communications at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. After graduating cum laude, Ashley returned to Houston, becoming an assignment editor for the KIAH-CW News. A few months later, Central Texas came calling. Ashley was the senior reporter at KCEN in the Waco-Temple-Killeen market where she covered an array of stories, from Baylor sports to the tragic Fort Hood massacre. In November 2011, Ashley earned an Emmy from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Lone Star Chapter for a story she wrote and produced on people who hack into video baby monitor systems.
That next year, Ashley’s career took her to the Texas capitol. During her time at KVUE, Ashley has worked as the weekend morning anchor, City Hall Reporter and she now anchors the Midday newscast at 11am and hosts Texas This Week, a Sunday morning political segment.
When she’s not chasing news, Ashley enjoys spending time with her husband Brian, volunteering with her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and exploring Austin.
