Dasha Smith is the Executive Vice President, Chief People Officer for the National Football League (NFL). In this role, Dasha is a member of the executive leadership team and responsible for all human resources activities across the League including talent and diversity strategies, workplace culture, compensation and recognition programs, leadership development, and succession planning.
Prior to joining the NFL, Dasha served as the Executive Vice President, Global Chief Human Resources Officer for Sony Music Entertainment, a leading music, entertainment, and technology company with operations in 60 countries. In this role, Ms. Smith was a member of the global leadership team and responsible for the Company’s global human resources and corporate responsibility strategies and operations. Ms. Smith played a key role in developing Sony Music’s culture and future-forward strategies to evolve the organization. Prior to joining Sony Music in 2018, Ms. Smith served as the Managing Director, Office of the Chairman and Global Chief Human Resources Officer for GCM Grosvenor, a leading global alternative investment firm with 57B+ AUM. At GCM Grosvenor, Ms. Smith was a member of a five-person executive management committee. Additionally, she directly managed human resources, marketing, investor relations, administration, facilities & operations, diversity, and corporate & social responsibility functions.
Prior to joining GCM Grosvenor in 2011, Ms. Smith spent 10 years at Time Inc. (formerly a division of Warner Media), where she led the global employee relations and employment & labor law departments. She also previously served as a senior attorney in the Time Inc. business and legal affairs department focusing on M&A.
Early in her career, Ms. Smith practiced as an international corporate attorney.
A native of Denver, Colorado, Ms. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia.
Dasha serves on the Board of Directors for Cohen & Steers, Inc. (NYSE: CNS), a leading real assets specialty manager. She serves on the Georgetown University Board of Regents as well as the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business Advisory Board. She is also a Trustee of the Dalton School, in New York City and a Board member of the National Museum of African American Music in Nashville, TN. Ms. Smith lives in New York City with her 2 children Connor and Ella.
