Galen Gordon is the Vice President of Talent Management for the NFL Media Group. He’s served in this role since January of 2018. Galen leads the Talent Department responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and development of more than 80 anchors, reporters, and analysts that reach fans across all platforms.
Prior to joining the NFL Galen spent 11 years as a Coordinating Producer for ESPN where he created, developed, or rebranded several shows including “Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith”, “First Take”, “Mike and Mike in the Morning”, “Numbers Never Lie”, and “SportsCenter Coast to Coast”. Throughout that process, Galen worked with and helped develop a dynamic and robust group of On-Air Talent for ESPN.
Galen is a 25-year member of the National Association of Black Journalists where he served as Vice President of Broadcast for the Sports Task Force for six years. Galen was also served on ESPN’s Diversity and Inclusion board for production from 2013 to 2017.
Before joining ESPN, Galen spent 12 years as a local and network news producer in several markets including St. Louis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and New York. His 23-year journalism career also includes CNN, where Galen produced a variety of news programs including Live from CNN and Wolf Blitzer Reports.
